How to read this: VLPs shine when the biology depends on the protein being multivalent and in its native oligomeric state — raising antibodies or nanobodies, screening binders, and presenting vaccine antigens. They are not the tool for atomic-resolution single-particle structure; for that use the nanodisc format, or detergent for high-resolution X-ray. Matched isotype-control VLPs in this collection let you subtract capsid background in binding and immunization assays.
