Overview

This product is an anti-SELP antibody for target detection and characterization. Key identifiers include host species: Rabbit; Monoclonal; clone AAEC-19; isotype Rabbit IgG; reactivity: Human. Reported application contexts include WB, IHC (as provided in the source record). Boster Bio Anti-CD62P SELP Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody catalog # M01241. Tested in WB, IHC applications. This antibody reacts with Human.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Target: SELP (P-selectin).
  • Antibody format: Monoclonal; clone AAEC-19; isotype Rabbit IgG.
  • Host: Rabbit.
  • Species reactivity: Human (confirm in your model system with appropriate controls).

This description is intended to help interpret the antibody design and the biological context of the target using the fields provided in the catalog record, alongside general experimental considerations.

Biological background

SELP (protein: Glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta (gsk3b)) is a commonly studied target in molecular and cellular biology. Functional context (as provided): Ca (2+)-dependent receptor for myeloid cells that binds to carbohydrates on neutrophils and monocytes. Mediates the interaction of activated endothelial cells or platelets with leukocytes. The ligand recognized is sialyl-Lewis X. Mediates rapid rolling of leukocyte rolling over vascular surfaces during the initial steps in inflammation through interaction with PSGL1. . Reported cellular localization context: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Tissue expression notes (as provided): Stored in the alpha-granules of platelets and Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells. Upon cell activation by agonists, P-selectin is transported rapidly to the cell surface.

Research relevance and current trends

  • Research context keywords from the source record include: Adaptive Immunity,Angiogenesis,Atherosclerosis,Cardiovascular,Cell Adhesion Molecules,Cell Type Markers,Hematopoietic Progenitors,Immunology,Myeloid,Platelets,Stem Cells,Vascular Inflammation.
  • Current studies often focus on connecting target abundance/localization to pathway perturbations across models, tissues, and cell states.
  • Quantitative and multiplexed assays (e.g., imaging + immunoblot panels) are commonly used to compare phenotypes across conditions and time-courses.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting (WB): assess relative target abundance across samples, treatments, or time-points.
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC): evaluate spatial distribution of target-positive staining in tissue architecture.

Workflow ideas (metafield): Validate SELP antibody specificity using KO/KD control samples (WB/IF/IHC as appropriate), Detect SELP expression by Western blot in cell or tissue lysates, Detect SELP in FFPE tissue sections by immunohistochemistry

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Consider isoforms and post-translational modifications (PTMs) that may shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
  • Apparent molecular weight may vary by sample type and processing (observed MW: 91 kDa; calculated MW: 90834 MW).
  • Control concepts: include appropriate negative controls (e.g., isotype, KO/KD samples) and orthogonal validation when feasible.

Additional product details (from the source record)

  • Molecular weight (observed): 91 kDa
  • Cellular localization (provided): Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
  • Tissue details (provided): Stored in the alpha-granules of platelets and Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells. Upon cell activation by agonists, P-selectin is transported rapidly to the cell surface.

Does M01241 anti-CD62P Rabbit Monoclonal antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?
It shows on the product datasheet, M01241 anti-CD62P Rabbit Monoclonal antibody as been tested on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.
