Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects fibrinogen gamma chain (gene FGG) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for flow cytometry, IHC, ICC/IF and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 51.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 52 kDa.
Fibrinogen gamma chain (FGG) is one of the three chains of fibrinogen, the plasma protein that thrombin converts into fibrin. The gamma chain contains sites for fibrin cross-linking by factor XIII and for binding the platelet integrin αIIbβ3, so it is important for clot stability. It is studied in hemostasis, thrombosis and inflammation.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Human) |
| IHC (frozen sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Human) |
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Human) |

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human hepatocellular carcinoma tumor tissue (HCCT), human hepatocellular carcinoma paracancerous tissue (HCCP), rat liver tissue, mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human liver cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): SiHa cells, A549 cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human FGG. It differs from the mouse sequence at two residues and from the rat sequence at five residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes fibrinogen gamma chain as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in blood plasma (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
