Product Overview
Clone CBD-13 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes serine/threonine-protein kinase mTOR in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 288.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 289 kDa.
mTOR is a serine/threonine kinase that forms two complexes, mTORC1 and mTORC2, and serves as a central integrator of nutrient, growth factor and energy signals. mTORC1 drives protein, lipid and nucleotide synthesis through targets such as S6K and 4E-BP1 and suppresses autophagy. mTOR signaling is studied across cell growth, metabolism, aging, immunity and cancer.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human 293T cells, human HeLa cells, human K562 cells, rat brain tissue, rat C6 cells, mouse brain tissue, mouse Neuro-2a cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): rat liver tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human mTOR.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places serine/threonine-protein kinase mTOR in the lysosome membrane, endoplasmic reticulum membrane and Golgi apparatus membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in numerous tissues, with highest levels in testis. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
