Anti-Tigit Antibody Picoband® is an antibody for Tigit detection raised in Rabbit (Polyclonal, Rabbit IgG), with reported reactivity: Mouse,Rat. Commonly used in WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA workflows.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: Tigit (Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 5); UniProt: P86176
- Antibody format: Rabbit, Polyclonal, Rabbit IgG
- Molecular weight: 30 kDa, calculated 30570 MW
- Applications: WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA
Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-Tigit Antibody Picoband® catalog # A01962-1.
Biological background
Biological context: IGF-binding proteins prolong the half-life of the IGFs and have been shown to either inhibit or stimulate the growth promoting effects of the IGFs on cell culture. They alter the interaction of IGFs with their cell surface receptors.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Secreted., tissue context: Osteosarcoma, and at lower levels in liver, kidney and brain..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare Tigit levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of Tigit in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify Tigit-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: TIGIT (also called T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains) is an immune receptor present on some T cells and Natural Killer Cells (NK). This gene encodes a member of the PVR (poliovirus receptor) family of immunoglobin proteins. The product of this gene is expressed on several classes of T cells including follicular B helper T cells (TFH). The protein has been shown to bind PVR with high affinity; this binding is thought to assist interactions between TFH and dendritic cells to regulate T cell dependent B cell responses.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Secreted.
- Tissue details: Osteosarcoma, and at lower levels in liver, kidney and brain.
- Research category: Growth Factors/Hormones,Lipid Signaling,Signal Transduction,Signaling Pathway
