Overview
CTSD Antibody / Cathepsin D is an antibody targeting CTSD. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: CTSD/4497. Format: Purified. Applications: WB, IHC-P.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: CTSD.
- Immunogen: Purified His-tagged CTSD protein was used as the immunogen for the CTSD antibody..
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Cytoplasm.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
Cathepsin D is a ubiquitously expressed lysosomal aspartyl protease involved in the normal degradation of proteins. It is synthesized as an inactive 43kDa preprocathepsin D that is cleaved and glycosylated to form a 46kDa procathepsin D and then further cleaved to produce 28kDa and 15kDa subunits (heavy and light chains, respectively).
Common research applications
- WB: relative abundance and band pattern assessment using appropriate controls.
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
