Overview
Interleukin 5 Antibody / IL5 is an antibody targeting Interleukin. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: IL5/4161. Format: Purified. Applications: IHC-P.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: Interleukin.
- Immunogen: A recombinant fragment of human IL5 protein corresponding to the mature protein sequence was used as the immunogen for….
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Secreted, Extracellular.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
Interleukin-5, or IL-5, was originally discovered as a soluble T cell-derived factor, called T cell-replacing factor (TRF), that induced T cell-depleted activated B cells to secrete immunoglobulin. Native IL-5 is a disulfide-linked homodimer. IL-5 is initially synthesized as a precursor with a 19 amino acid signal peptide which is cleaved to form a 112 amino acid mature protein.
Common research applications
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
