Overview
mtTFA Antibody | Mitochondrial transcription factor 1 / TFAM is an antibody targeting mtTFA. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: TFAM/9713. Format: Purified. Applications: IHC-P, WB.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: mtTFA.
- Immunogen: A portion of amino acids 1-200 from human Mitochondrial transcription factor 1 protein was used as the immunogen for th….
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Cytoplasm (Mitochondria).
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
mtTFA (mitochondrial transcription factor A), also known as mtTF1, TFAM, TCF6 (for transcription factor 6-like1), TCF6L2 and tsHMG, is a nuclear-encoded gene product that is imported into the mitochondria. mtTFA is required for many aspects of mitochondrial biogenesis including the replication and transcription of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA).
Common research applications
- WB: relative abundance and band pattern assessment using appropriate controls.
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
