Overview

MutS homolog 2 Antibody / MSH2 is an antibody targeting MutS. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: MSH2/3165. Format: Purified. Applications: WB, IHC-P.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Target: MutS.
  • Immunogen: A recombinant partial protein sequence (within amino acids 300-500) from the human protein was used as the immunogen fo….
  • Species reactivity: Human.
  • Localization: Nucleus.
  • Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).

Biological background (from provided description)

Mutations in DNA mismatch repair genes are associated with hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC). Initially, inherited mutations in the MSH2 and MLH1 homologs of the bacterial DNA mismatch repair genes MutS and MutL were found at high frequency in HNPCC and were shown to be associated with microsatellite instability.

Common research applications

  • WB: relative abundance and band pattern assessment using appropriate controls.
  • IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
  • Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).

Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
