Product Overview

Isotype Control

Rhesus Monkey IgE, kappa Isotype Control (HyHEL-10) is a monoclonal isotype control antibody (clone HyHEL-10). Isotype control antibodies match the host species, isotype and conjugate of a test antibody but are directed against an antigen absent from the sample, providing a measure of non-specific background binding (Fc-receptor interactions, non-specific membrane adhesion) in immunoassays.

Use this control alongside rhesus monkey-derived IgE kappa primary antibodies to set gating and background thresholds.

Q.What is this isotype control used for?
A.It provides a matched negative control: an antibody of the same host, isotype as your test antibody but with no specificity for antigens in your sample, so any signal it produces represents non-specific background.
Q.What does signal from an isotype control indicate?
A.Any signal it produces reflects non-specific binding — for example Fc-receptor interactions or general stickiness of immunoglobulins to the sample — rather than target-specific detection. Use that signal as the baseline when interpreting the matching test antibody.
Q.How do I choose the right isotype control?
A.Match three properties of your test antibody: host species (Rhesus Monkey), isotype (IgE, kappa), and label (unconjugated here). All three must match for the background estimate to be valid.
Q.How should it be stored?
A.Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Store at 2 to 8°C for frequent use. Store at -20 to -80°C for twelve months from the date of receipt.

Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
