Overview
Syndecan-1 Antibody / CD138 is an antibody targeting Syndecan-1. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: SDC1/7180. Format: Purified. Applications: IHC-P.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: Syndecan-1.
- Immunogen: A portion of amino acids 90-250 was used as the immunogen for the Syndecan-1 antibody..
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Cell Surface.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
CD138, also designated syndecan-1, is a member of the syndecan family of four transmembrane spanning proteins capable of binding to heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate molecules. The syndecans main functions are to control cell growth and differentiation as well as to maintain cell adhesion and cell migration.
Common research applications
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
