Compound Overview
14S(15R)-EET is an endogenous epoxytrienoic acid derivative found mainly in rat organs. Studies of its metabolism showed that epoxidase strongly affects both its stereoselective hydration and its formation of chiral diols. Different 14,15-EET enantiomers underwent hydration with different regiochemistry and stereochemistry, and among them 14(R),15(S)-EET showed hydration specific to C15. These findings point to a role for epoxidase in endogenous EET metabolism, and differences in enzyme affinity and reaction rate across EET enantiomers may drive their distinct stereoselective metabolism[1]. It has the molecular formula C20H32O3 and a molecular weight of 320.47 g/mol.
