In Vitro
Across a variety of tumor cell lines in vitro, the IC50 ratio of 5-Fluorouridine 5'-O-β-D-galactopyranoside (5'-O-β-D-galactosyl-5-fluorouridine) to 5-Fluorouridine ranged from 500:1-1000:1[1].
In Vivo
In Balb/c mice, 5-Fluorouridine 5'-O-β-D-galactopyranoside (5'-O-β-D-galactosyl-5-fluorouridine) is more than 100x less toxic to bone marrow cells than 5-Fluorouridine[1].
