As a click chemistry reagent it carries an azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) with molecules containing alkyne groups, and it can also undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
