Compound Overview
AChE/Aβ-IN-1 is a potent, orally active inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) with an IC50 of 86 nM, and an antagonist of the NMDA receptor (GluN1-1b/GluN2B subunit combination) with an IC50 of 3.876 μM. It also inhibits Aβ aggregation and shows good blood-brain barrier permeability and neuroprotection, improving cognitive and spatial memory impairment in a rat model[1]. It has the molecular formula C20H25BrN4 and a molecular weight of 401.34 g/mol.

Safety
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and not for human or veterinary use. Handle in accordance with your institution's chemical hygiene plan.
In Vitro
AChE/Aβ-IN-1 (5-20 μM; 48 h) inhibits the aggregation of Aβ1-42 (10 μM)[1].
In Vivo
In rat models, AChE/Aβ-IN-1, given po at 10 mg/kg/d for 7 days, inhibits Aβ1-42-induced memory deficits and decreases the time spent in the platform zone during the Morris water maze[1].
