Product Overview

ADAR2 (R510) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of ADAR2 protein.

ADAR2, also designated adenosine deaminase, RNA-specific (RED1), RNA-editing enzyme 1, DRABA2, DRADA2, ADAR2α-L1, ADAR2α-L2 and ADAR2α-L3, mediates RNA editing by destabilizing RNA through deamination of adenosine to inosine. ADAR2 is responsible for pre-mRNA editing of the glutamate receptor subunit B by site-specific deamination of adenosines. It can modify its own pre-mRNA and generate new splice sites. Translocation of endogenous ADAR2 from the nucleolus to the nucleoplasm results in increased editing of endogenous ADAR2 substrates.

What applications has this antibody been validated for?

This antibody has been validated for WB, IHC. Always refer to the product datasheet for recommended dilution ranges and appropriate positive control samples for each application type.

Which species does this antibody react with?

Validated reactivity has been confirmed for Human, Mouse, Rat. Cross-reactivity with additional species may exist based on sequence homology but has not been confirmed by the manufacturer. For unlisted species, we recommend running a preliminary validation experiment.

What secondary antibody should I pair with this product?

This antibody was raised in Rabbit. For indirect detection (WB, IHC, IF), select an anti-Rabbit secondary antibody that matches the isotype. For direct detection, check the variant selector for conjugated formats. Confirm secondary antibody compatibility before ordering.

What is the immunogen used to generate this antibody?

Synthetic peptide, corresponding to amino acids 480-530 of Human ADAR2.

How should this antibody be stored?

Please refer to the storage conditions on the product label and datasheet. As a general best practice: upon receipt, aliquot into single-use volumes to minimize freeze-thaw cycling, which can progressively reduce antibody performance and lead to aggregation.

Is this antibody suitable for use with my specific cell line or tissue?

Validated reactivity covers Human, Mouse, Rat samples. Performance can vary across different cell lines and tissue types depending on target antigen expression levels and epitope accessibility. We recommend verifying target expression in your specific model system using a known positive control before proceeding to experimental samples.
