Compound Overview

Amorphigenin is a trothotenone compound that inhibits osteoclast differentiation by suppressing expression of c-Fos and NFATc1 in activated T cells. It degrades melanosome proteins by activating the AMPK-dependent autophagy pathway, independent of the mTOR pathway, and significantly protects bone mass while reducing bone erosion in a mouse model of inflammatory bone loss. It can be used to study inflammatory bone diseases, postmenopausal osteoporosis, and skin pigmentation disorders[1][2]. It has a molecular formula of C23H22O7 and a molecular weight of 410.42 g/mol.
