Product Overview
Clone 26A90 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase, mitochondrial (gene ACAA2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 41.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 42 kDa.
Mitochondrial 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase (ACAA2) carries out the last step of fatty acid beta-oxidation, splitting 3-ketoacyl-CoA into acetyl-CoA and a fatty acyl-CoA two carbons shorter. It is abundant in liver, heart and muscle and is studied in energy metabolism.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human PANC-1 cells, human Caco-2 cells, human U2OS cells, rat heart tissue, rat kidney tissue, mouse heart tissue, mouse kidney tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:1000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue, human colung cancer tissue, human liver cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human ACAA2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
