The predicted molecular weight is 46.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 47 kDa.
Medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (ACADM, MCAD) catalyzes the first step of mitochondrial beta-oxidation for medium-chain fatty acids, passing electrons to electron transfer flavoprotein. MCAD deficiency is one of the most common inherited fatty acid oxidation disorders and is included in newborn screening.
