Product Overview

Clone 30A18 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes arf-GAP with coiled-coil, ANK repeat and PH domain-containing protein 2 (gene ACAP2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 88.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 88 kDa.

ACAP2 (centaurin beta-2) is a GTPase-activating protein for ARF6 that contains coiled-coil, ankyrin repeat and PH domains. By switching off ARF6 it helps control endosomal membrane trafficking and recycling, and it is studied in membrane transport and cell signaling.

Validated Applications

Western blot 1:500–1:2000

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): 293 cells.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human ACAP2.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places arf-GAP with coiled-coil, ANK repeat and PH domain-containing protein 2 in the cell membrane and endosome membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 88.0 kDa; observed band at about 88 kDa.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human ACAP2.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
