The muscarinic acetylcholine receptor M2 (CHRM2) is a G protein-coupled receptor that signals through Gi/o proteins to inhibit adenylyl cyclase and open potassium channels. It is the main muscarinic receptor of the heart, where it slows heart rate, and it also acts as a presynaptic autoreceptor in the nervous system.
