Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 2 (gene ADAM2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 82.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 69 kDa.
ADAM2 (fertilin beta) is a sperm surface protein of the ADAM family that lacks protease activity. It is needed for normal sperm migration and binding to the egg's zona pellucida, and it is studied in male fertility.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human MCF-7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): MCF-7 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human ADAM2 fragment (Leu228–Tyr277), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 72%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 2 in the membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed specifically in spermatogenic cells in the seminiferous cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
