Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 4 (gene ADAMTS4) in human samples and is validated for ELISA and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 90.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 58 kDa.
ADAMTS4 (aggrecanase-1) is a secreted metalloprotease that cleaves aggrecan and other cartilage proteoglycans. It contributes to cartilage turnover and is studied as a mediator of cartilage breakdown in osteoarthritis.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): recombinant human ADAMTS4 protein.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human ADAMTS4. It differs from the mouse sequence at five residues and from the rat sequence at six residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in brain, lung and heart. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
