Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes perilipin-2 (gene PLIN2) in human samples and is validated for flow cytometry and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 48.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 48 kDa.
Perilipin-2 (also called adipophilin or ADRP) is a lipid droplet coat protein found in many cell types. It supports the formation and stability of lipid droplets and is widely used as a marker of lipid accumulation in liver, muscle and macrophage studies.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human K562 cells, human JAR cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HEL cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human ADFP fragment (Lys226–Gln418), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 88.4%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places perilipin-2 in the membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Milk lipid globules. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
