Clone 27A96 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes alpha-1A adrenergic receptor (gene ADRA1A) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 51.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 51 kDa.
Alpha-1A adrenergic receptor (ADRA1A) is a Gq-coupled receptor for norepinephrine and epinephrine that triggers calcium release and protein kinase C activation. It mediates smooth muscle contraction in blood vessels and the prostate and is the target of alpha-1 blockers.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human Jurkat cells, human U2OS cells, human HEL cells, rat brain tissue, mouse heart tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places alpha-1A adrenergic receptor in the nuclear membrane, cell membrane, cytoplasm and membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in heart, brain, liver and prostate, but not in kidney, lung, adrenal, aorta and pituitary. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
