Product Overview
Clone 28F80 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes adrenodoxin, mitochondrial (gene FDX1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 19.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 13 kDa.
Ferredoxin-1 (FDX1, adrenodoxin) is a small mitochondrial iron–sulfur protein that passes electrons from adrenodoxin reductase to mitochondrial cytochrome P450 enzymes such as CYP11A1, supporting steroid hormone synthesis. It is also involved in iron–sulfur cluster biology and is studied in steroidogenesis and in copper-induced cell death (cuproptosis).

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human A549 cells, human Caco-2 cells, human SiHa cells, human 293T cells, rat PC-12 cells, rat C6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:1000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): SiHa cells.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places adrenodoxin, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion matrix. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highest levels in the adrenal gland (at protein level).
