Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects advanced glycation end product-specific receptor (gene Ager) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 42.7 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 43 kDa, 58 kDa.
RAGE (AGER, receptor for advanced glycation end products) is a cell surface pattern recognition receptor of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It binds diverse stress-related ligands, including advanced glycation end products, S100 proteins, HMGB1 and amyloid-β oligomers, and triggers inflammatory signaling, so it is studied in diabetes complications, vascular disease, neurodegeneration and chronic inflammation.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.25 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat lung tissue, mouse lung tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse Ager fragment (Gln24–Glu320), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places advanced glycation end product-specific receptor in the cell membrane, cell projection, early endosome and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Isoform 1: Expressed at higher levels in the coronary arterioles in type 2 diabetic mice (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
