Product Overview
Clone 27A59 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes glycogen debranching enzyme (gene AGL) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 174.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 175 kDa.
Glycogen debranching enzyme (AGL) carries two activities, a glucanotransferase and an amylo-1,6-glucosidase, that together remove branch points during glycogen breakdown. Loss of AGL function causes glycogen storage disease type III, making it a focus of research on glycogen metabolism in liver and muscle.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human AGL.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places glycogen debranching enzyme in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Liver, kidney and lymphoblastoid cells express predominantly isoform 1. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
