Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets protein argonaute-1 (gene AGO1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 97.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 97 kDa.
Argonaute-1 (AGO1) is a member of the Argonaute family that binds microRNAs and siRNAs and uses them as guides to repress translation of complementary mRNAs. Unlike AGO2, it lacks slicer activity, and it has also been linked to small RNA-directed transcriptional silencing of promoters.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells, human PC-3 cells, human HeLa cells, human Caco-2 cells, human 293T cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U87 cells.

Recombinant human AGO1 fragment (Ala9–Glu405), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places protein argonaute-1 in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
