Product Overview
Clone AOHG-1 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes albumin in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 69.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 69 kDa.
Albumin (ALB) is the most abundant protein in blood plasma and is made by the liver. It maintains colloid osmotic pressure and carries fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin, metal ions such as Ca2+ and Zn2+, and many drugs, so it is widely measured in liver, kidney and nutrition research.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 1:500–1:2000 |
|---|---|
| Immunohistochemistry | 1:50–1:200 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat blood, rat liver tissue, mouse blood, mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:1000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human liver tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human albumin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes albumin as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Plasma. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
