Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects alpha-1B-glycoprotein (gene A1BG) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 54.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50–75 kDa.
Alpha-1B-glycoprotein (A1BG) is a plasma glycoprotein made mainly in the liver and belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Its physiological function is not fully understood, and it is measured in studies of plasma proteomics and candidate biomarkers.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.25 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human hepatocellular carcinoma tumor tissue (HCCT), human hepatocellular carcinoma paracancerous tissue (HCCP), rat plasma, mouse plasma.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human Alpha 1B-Glycoprotein/A1BG fragment (Asp429–Ser495), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 54% and 51.5%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes alpha-1B-glycoprotein as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Plasma. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
