| Immunogen | A synthesized peptide derived from human alpha Internexin Class-IV neuronal intermediate filament that is able to self-assemble. It is involved in the morphogenesis of neurons. It may form an independent structural network without the involvement of other neurofilaments or it may cooperate with NF-L to form the filamentous backbone to which NF-M and NF-H attach to form the cross-bridges. |

Product Overview
Clone AECG-9 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes alpha-internexin (gene INA) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 55.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
Alpha-internexin (encoded by INA) is a type IV neuronal intermediate filament protein expressed early in neuronal development. It can assemble on its own or co-assemble with neurofilament proteins such as NEFL to form the axonal cytoskeleton, and it is used as a neuronal marker in neurobiology and neuropathology studies.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human alpha Internexin Class-IV neuronal intermediate filament that is able to self-assemble.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Found predominantly in adult CNS. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
