Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase proenzyme (gene AMD1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 38.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 40–42 kDa.
S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase (AMD1) removes a carboxyl group from S-adenosylmethionine to provide the aminopropyl donor for spermidine and spermine synthesis. It is a key regulatory enzyme of polyamine production, which supports cell growth and embryonic stem cell self-renewal.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human RT4 cells, human U251 cells, human HEL cells, rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse heart tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the middle region of human AMD1. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
