Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets plasminogen (gene PLG) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 90.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 90–100 kDa.
Plasminogen is the liver-derived zymogen of plasmin, the main enzyme that dissolves fibrin clots. Converted to plasmin by tPA or uPA, it also breaks down extracellular matrix proteins and activates growth factors and metalloproteinases, so it is central to research on fibrinolysis, wound healing and tissue remodeling.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue, human Caco-2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human mammary cancer tissue, human placenta tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).

Recombinant human Angiostatin K1-3 fragment (Cys103–Cys352), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places plasminogen in the [Plasmin]: Secreted. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Present in plasma and many other extracellular fluids. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls. A carrier-free (BSA-free) format can be requested; specify it in the order note.
