Product Overview
Clone GGO-1 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes angiotensinogen (gene AGT) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 53.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 53 kDa.
Angiotensinogen (AGT) is a liver-derived plasma protein and the sole precursor of the angiotensin peptides. Cleavage by renin and then ACE generates angiotensin II, which constricts blood vessels and stimulates aldosterone release, placing AGT at the start of the renin-angiotensin system that controls blood pressure and fluid balance.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human angiotensinogen.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes angiotensinogen as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed by the liver and secreted in plasma. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
