Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects antithrombin-III (gene SERPINC1) in rat, mouse and human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 52.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 57 kDa.
Antithrombin-III (antithrombin, SERPINC1) is the main plasma serpin that controls blood coagulation. It inactivates thrombin and factors IXa, Xa and XIa, and its activity is strongly accelerated by heparin, which is the basis of heparin's anticoagulant effect; inherited antithrombin deficiency increases the risk of venous thrombosis.
| Target | Antithrombin-III (gene SERPINC1; UniProt P01008, human) |

| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Rat, Mouse) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat testis tissue, SMMC cells, Jurkat cells, RAJI cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human antithrombin III. It differs from the mouse and rat sequences at one residue.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with rat, mouse and human. UniProt describes antithrombin-III as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Found in plasma. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
