Product Overview
Clone 21A62 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes AP-2 complex subunit sigma (gene AP2S1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 17.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 17 kDa.
AP2S1 is the small σ2 subunit of adaptor protein complex 2 (AP-2), which links cargo and clathrin during endocytosis at the plasma membrane. AP2S1 mutations cause familial hypocalciuric hypercalcemia type 3 by altering endocytosis of the calcium-sensing receptor.
