Product Overview
Clone ABBC-1 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ubiquitin-like-conjugating enzyme ATG3 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 35.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 40 kDa.
ATG3 is the E2-like conjugating enzyme that attaches ATG8 family proteins, such as LC3 and GABARAP, to phosphatidylethanolamine. This lipidation step anchors LC3 to the growing autophagosome membrane and is essential for autophagy.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Jurkat cells, human K562 cells, human Raji cells, monkey COS-7 cells, rat C6 cells, mouse kidney tissue, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human apg3 (Atg3).
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places ubiquitin-like-conjugating enzyme ATG3 in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed, with a highest expression in heart, skeletal muscle, kidney, liver and placenta. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
