Product Overview
Clone 17A47 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes apolipoprotein C-III (gene APOC3) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 10.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 11 kDa.
Apolipoprotein C-III (APOC3) is a component of VLDL and HDL that raises plasma triglyceride levels. It inhibits lipoprotein lipase and slows the uptake of triglyceride-rich lipoprotein remnants by the liver, which has made it an important target in studies of triglyceride metabolism and cardiovascular risk.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 1:500–1:2000 |
|---|---|
| Immunohistochemistry | 1:50–1:200 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human plasma.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human APOC3.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes apolipoprotein C-III as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Liver. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
