Product Overview
Clone 24A09 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes beta-2-glycoprotein 1 (gene APOH) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 38.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
Beta-2-glycoprotein 1 (APOH, also called β2-glycoprotein I) is a plasma glycoprotein that binds negatively charged molecules such as phospholipids and heparin. It can modulate blood coagulation, and it is the main target of antiphospholipid antibodies, which makes it a frequent subject in antiphospholipid syndrome research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human Caco-2 cells, mouse HEPA1–6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:1000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human liver cancer tissue, human liver tissue, mouse liver tissue, human colon cancer tissue, mouse kidney tissue, rat kidney tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human apoH.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes beta-2-glycoprotein 1 as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed by the liver and secreted in plasma. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
