Product Overview
Clone 17G5 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognizes apolipoprotein A-I (gene APOA1) in human samples and is validated for ELISA and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 30.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 25 kDa.
Apolipoprotein A-I (APOA1) is the main protein component of high-density lipoprotein (HDL). It helps remove excess cholesterol from peripheral tissues and carry it to the liver, and it activates lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT), which esterifies cholesterol within HDL particles. APOA1 is widely measured in studies of lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health.

| ELISA (capture antibody) | 1–5 µg/mL |
Conditions in the example images (WB): 12% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse Apolipoprotein A I fragment (Asp25–Gln264), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the human and rat orthologs: 64% and 68.6%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes apolipoprotein A-I as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Major protein of plasma HDL, also found in chylomicrons.
