Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13 (gene TNFSF13) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 27.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 32 kDa.
APRIL (TNFSF13) is a TNF family cytokine that binds the receptors TACI and BCMA, which it shares with BAFF. It supports B-cell and plasma cell survival and antibody responses and has been linked to tumor cell growth, so it is studied in humoral immunity, autoimmunity and B-cell malignancies such as multiple myeloma.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human U-937 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human APRIL/TNFSF13 fragment (Met1–Leu250), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13 as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed at high levels in transformed cell lines, cancers of colon, thyroid, lymphoid tissues and specifically expressed in monocytes and macrophages. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
