Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes aquaporin-3 (gene Aqp3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 31.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 32 kDa.
Aquaporin-3 is an aquaglyceroporin, a membrane channel that carries glycerol and hydrogen peroxide as well as water. It is prominent in kidney collecting duct cells, airway epithelium and epidermal keratinocytes, where glycerol transport supports skin hydration and barrier function, and it is studied in skin biology, kidney physiology and cancer.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat, Human) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse kidney tissue, mouse brain tissue, rat kidney tissue, rat brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the middle region of mouse aquaporin 3. It differs from the human sequence at three residues and from the rat sequence at two residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places aquaporin-3 in the cell membrane and basolateral cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Detected in principal cells in collecting ducts in kidney medulla (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
