Product Overview
Clone 17A27 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes AT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 1A (gene ARID1A) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 242.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 242 kDa.
ARID1A (BAF250A) is a large DNA-binding subunit of the SWI/SNF (BAF) chromatin remodeling complex. It helps the complex reposition nucleosomes to activate or repress target genes, and it is one of the most frequently mutated chromatin regulators in human cancers, including ovarian clear cell carcinoma.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 8% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human adenocarcinoma of colon tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): SH-SY5Y cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human ARID1A.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places AT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 1A in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in spleen, thymus, prostate, testis, ovary, small intestine, colon, and PBL, and at a much lower level in heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, and pancreas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
