Product Overview
Clone Clone: 2E11 is a rabbit polyclonal antibody that recognizes actin-related protein 2 (gene ACTR2) in human, mouse, monkey and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 44.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.
Actin-related protein 2 (ACTR2, Arp2) is an ATP-binding core subunit of the Arp2/3 complex. When activated by nucleation-promoting factors such as WASP and WAVE, the complex starts new actin filaments as branches on existing ones, building the networks that push lamellipodia forward during cell migration.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat kidney tissue, rat spleen tissue, mouse HEPA1–6 wholel cells, mouse SP2/0 cells, monkey COS-7 cells, human U-87MG cells, human Jurkat cells, human PC-3 cells, human U2OS cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human mammary cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A431 cells, ANA-1 cells, C6 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human Arp2/ACTR2 fragment (Met1–Arg394), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse, monkey and rat. UniProt places actin-related protein 2 in the cytoplasm, cell projection and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
