Product Overview

Clone 23A63 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes argininosuccinate synthase (gene ASS1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 46.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.

Argininosuccinate synthase (ASS1) is a urea cycle enzyme that joins citrulline and aspartate to form argininosuccinate. It is rate-limiting for arginine synthesis in many tissues, its deficiency causes citrullinemia type I, and loss of ASS1 in some tumors makes them dependent on external arginine.
