Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects cyclic AMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-4 (gene ATF4) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 38.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
Cyclic AMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-4 (ATF4) is a bZIP transcription factor at the center of the integrated stress response. Its translation increases when eIF2α is phosphorylated, and it then activates genes for amino acid synthesis and transport, antioxidant defense and, under prolonged stress, CHOP-mediated cell death.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places cyclic AMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-4 in the nucleus, nucleus speckle, cytoplasm and cell membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
