Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes cysteine protease ATG4C in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 52.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 52 kDa.
ATG4C is a member of the ATG4 family of cysteine proteases that process ATG8 family proteins for autophagy. Like its paralogs it can prime LC3 and GABARAP proteins for lipidation and remove them from membranes, although it is less active than ATG4B.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human 293T cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U251 cells.

Recombinant human ATG4C fragment (Met1–Leu457), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places cysteine protease ATG4C in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
