Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets bifunctional purine biosynthesis protein ATIC in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 64.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 65 kDa.
ATIC is a bifunctional enzyme that performs the last two steps of de novo purine biosynthesis, converting AICAR to IMP through formyltransferase and cyclohydrolase activities. It is studied in nucleotide metabolism, and its AICAR transformylase activity is a target of the antifolate methotrexate.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): K562 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human ATIC fragment (Thr37–His592), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places bifunctional purine biosynthesis protein ATIC in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Present in the heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, pancreas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
