Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO (gene AXL) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 98.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 140 kDa.
AXL is a receptor tyrosine kinase of the TAM family (TYRO3, AXL, MER) that is activated by the ligand GAS6. It promotes cell survival, proliferation and migration and helps clear apoptotic cells and dampen innate immune responses. AXL overexpression is linked to epithelial–mesenchymal transition and drug resistance in cancer, making it an active research target.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human A431 cells, human U2OS cells, human U-87MG cells, human PC-3 cells, human K562 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HeLa cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human AXL fragment (Ala47–Ala244), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in metastatic colon tumors. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
